Synopsis

Based on nonfiction of the same title, Through the Darkness follows the birth of the 'profiler' in Korea. In the early 2000s, when the concepts of 'psychopath' or 'criminal psychology' were unfamiliar, investigations of several murder cases constantly hit the dead end. Captain Kook, the head of the forensic team, founded the behavioral investigation team and appointed Song Ha-young as the first investigator. With the support of Kook and the police, Song explores the darkest minds of the notorious killers, pioneering the new area of criminal investigations.
